Ramona Hood is vice president of Transportation Management, FedEx Supply Chain. She also Co-Chairs the FedEx Supply Chain Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Steering Committee. She joined FedEx in September 1991 and currently is responsible for providing leadership to the FedEx Transportation Management to assure that the sales, revenue and strategic plans are achieved.
Prior to FedEx Supply Chain, Hood held various positions within FedEx Custom Critical and FedEx Truckload Brokerage. She displayed proven leadership and the ability to drive results.
Hood received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Walsh University and an Executive MBA from Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management.
Hood has many interests outside of work as well. She is a business advisor for Welty Building. She is chair of the technology committee for Transportation Intermediary Association. She serves on the Summit Education Initiative board and Cleveland State University Foundation. She was previously the chairman of the board of trustees for Child Appointed Special Advocates.
Additionally, Hood is a member of the Kent Area (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and Akron Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. She previously served as a member of the Summit County Red Cross Board from 2012 to 2014 and the advisor board for the Akron Public Schools from 2006 to 2011. Hood also served as the Guiding Coalition Chair for Circles Summit County.
In 2010, Hood was honored with the FedEx Corporate Five Star Award. Additionally, she was honored by the Greater Akron Chamber with the “30 for the Future” award.
In 2013, she was recognized by Sale Marketing Executive Internationals with a Distinguished Sales & Marketing Award. She also received the Woman of Inspiration Award from Walsh University.
Hood was awarded Crain’s Cleveland Women of Note 2016 and Smart Women 2016 Honoree of the Progressive Woman award. She also received the 2016 Woman of Influence from Women in Trucking.
She received her second FedEx Five Star in 2016.
Hood resides in Copley, Ohio, with her two daughters, Mariah and Kayla.
